OPEN HEAVEN

Rev 19:11- 16

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him [was] called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.  His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

The Meaning of An "Open Heaven"
Web definitions
A pronounced increase, in a particular season, of the supernatural invading the natural; examples throughout Scripture include Genesis 28:12, Exodus 24:9-11, Ezekiel 1-3, John 1:51 and Revelation 1
The above scripture gave a vivid synopsis of open heaven as the abode of our Heavenly father and our Lord Jesus Christ. It is also the place we would expect to find the angels, as they run errand for us here on earth. When the psalmist ask the question in Chapter 8 about who man was…the bible recorded that man was made a little bit lower than the angels. The question is if man was made lower than the angels, how come the angels are on assignment for man?
The answer is not far fetched because even though man was created in God’s image, man lives here on earth but the angels reside in heaven with God. Thus, when man who was who had the mandate to rule the earth is in need of anything, He approaches His father in heaven who now had legions of angels that work for him. Just as we have the heaven that every believer wants to go at the end of their journey here on earth, so also there is a heaven for everything that exists where man gain access to approach the father. Thus, when such heaven is closed, one would struggle effortlessly to get anything done.
As a believer, we have to aggressively pray for the doors of heaven to open for divine favors, prosperity, peace, health, business success and good relationships. We need to pray so that the floodgates of heaven will open for divine victories in the battles that we fight daily. Some of these battles we were born into it, some are generational while some are foundational. When one is faced with such serious situations, common gentleman prayer will not unlock the heaven of such situation. Sometimes, you see a lot of Christians with high educational background, highly ramified work ethics, yet they seem to have nothing to show for it. This is because their heaven had been closed even before they were born.
Some heavens remain closed due to curses from people of authority or as a result of someone wrong doings. Immediately, one approaches the throne of heaven, even if God should answer such prayer and their heaven remain closed, nothing would manifest in the physical. Believers who understand the wisdom of open heaven know that they have to pray for that it would rain, and the land can yield her increase for a turnaround, break open, breakout and breakthrough. Majority of the prayer points that remain unanswered was because the heavens over such circumstances are still closed. Our God is not a God of failure. The Lord causes us invariably to triumph in Christ Jesus. Therefore, every certified CHILD of God should be able to explore their open heaven and open doors that are engineered by knowledge of the word in him.

Three Keys To An Open Heaven
When we commit ourselves to seeking the Lord on a regular basis, and determine within ourselves to press in to the inner court of His presence with persistent, persevering prayer, diligent obedience and sacrificial giving we will start experiencing an open heaven from God.
Let us go on scriptural tour to show that heaven is touched when we do these three things.
1. CONSISTENT, PERSEVERING PRAYER
(A) Isaiah……. ‘Tear Open The Heavens.’
-----------------------------------------------
Isaiah 64:1-2 Oh, that you would rend “tear open” the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you! 2 As when fire sets twigs ablaze and causes water to boil, come down to make your name known to your enemies and cause the nations to quake before you! 3 For when you did awesome things that we did not expect, you came down, and the mountains trembled before you.
• The word “rend” in this Scripture means to tear open
o Isaiah is crying out to God for an open heaven! “Oh, Lord, rend the heavens and come down! We need you!”
o Can you hear the cry of the prophet’s heart as he laments in prayer and petition to God?
Isaiah wanted God to behave as He had done in the past. Recalling the Scripture about God’s visit with Moses on Mt. Sinai, Isaiah longed for a repeat performance.
Exodus 19:18 18 Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the LORD descended on it in fire. The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace, the whole mountain trembled violently.

=èBREAKING THE BARRIER OF THE PAST
Family and others may have placed limitations on us by the things they have or have not done or said. It’s time to break with the past and trust God for the realization of your dreams.
2. DILIGENT OBEDIENCE
If you READ Deut. 28:1-14 – 1, you will realize what the bible says concerning obedience that If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come upon you and accompany (‘overtake’ AMP) you if you obey the LORD your God: …These pronouncement continues until verse 14.
HERE, we see the Lord strongly emphasizing the importance of obeying His commands.
• He uses the adjective fully (kjv ‘diligently’), which is characterized by persevering or painstaking effort.
• Most of the time, it’s going to take everything that we have within us to obey the voice of the Lord.
• He will not always ask us to do the “easy thing” for His kingdom.
• Sometimes, we will find it very difficult to obey, yet, deep inside, we will know exactly what we need to do.
• We must not reason things out with our minds, but we must listen and obey Him by the Spirit.
If We Obey … ‘The Lord Will Open The Heavens.’
Deut. 28:12 – 12 The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands.
There are thousands of promises in God’s word that are available to each and every one of us, if we would just learn how to lay hold of them.
• However, thinking that we can just name it and claim it, and everything will be all right has deceived some of us.
• There’s more involved in this process than just speaking words that have not taken root in our hearts. His word must be made a reality to us.
• We must learn how to appropriate His word into our lives.
If we truly want to see the heavens opened over our homes, our churches, our schools and our nation, it’s going to take more effort than just saying a lifeless quick prayer in the morning.

3. SACRIFICIAL GIVING
--------------------------
(A) Acts 10:1-6 Cornelius 2… and prayed to God regularly. 3 One day at about three in the afternoon he had a vision. He distinctly saw an angel of God, who came to him and said, "Cornelius!" 4 Cornelius stared at him in fear. "What is it, Lord?" he asked. The angel answered, "Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God.
Cornelius’s prayers and giving had come up to God as a ‘memorial’ unto God. His prayers and generosity to the poor brought salvation to his household!!
In Malachi 3:6-10; 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in
my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.
God wants to pour out a deluge of blessings upon us –more than we can hold. Applying the law of ‘First Mention,’ we can see the implication of “floodgates of heaven” (vs 10 above) when we go to our next scripture …
(C) Genesis 7:11-12 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. 12 And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.
Have you been walking in obedience to God and been faithful in your tithing and giving? All you are doing is to unlock your heaven

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, open the doors of heavenly blessings and breakthrough upon my life, ministry, business, profession, health, income, and relationships. in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. I interrupt by Holy Ghost fireplace, every satanic forces, demonic blockage, remote management, gadgets, and monitoring devices, militating against my open doors. No man or devil will shut the open doors before me, and the open heaven over my life in Jesus Name.
3. I decree, declare, proclaim that the doors of heavenly treasures are open permanently to me in Jesus Name. I claim perpetual open heaven over my life, my family, my ministry, workplace and everything I do

TRANSFORMATIONAL EXPERIENCE OF A NON-BELIEVER

Text: John 4:24                                                                             God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Today you will observe with dismay how some people counterfeit the true worship of God in the name of religion. The reason for this phenomenon is not farfetched. They worship in the flesh and not in the spirit. This is the reason Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3:5b that:
“Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
This also was the message of Jesus Christ to the religiously minded people of His days, as well as the message of the early apostles. They played down the paraphernalia of religious practices that did not connote spiritualism. They worshipped in truth and in spirit.
How can we put an end to carnal religiosity in our churches today? The solution is simple: we must go back to the basics of Christian teaching as outlined in Acts 2:37-38:
“Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.“
It is a pity that people do not know or have forgotten that genuine repentance is the foundation of the faith that saves. Covering up our past misdeeds without repentance is a waste of time.

The Holy Spirit emphasizes this truth through Apostle John in 1 John 1:6-9:
“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

The problem with many 21st century so-called Christian worshippers is that they no longer admit sin to be sin; they trivialize sin and regard it as unavoidable “mistakes”, hence, they neither confess it as sin nor strive to live above it with the power of the Holy Ghost. This explains the carnal worship and “plenty-rascality” in the name of Pentecostalism that we observe in some of our churches. Remember the works of the flesh in Galatians 5:19-21. These are the things we must not entangle ourselves with if we would worship God in spirit and in truth. You must be born of the Spirit and live a life of change for acceptable worship in the sight of God.

HEAR MY HUMBLE CRY, OH LORD!

WHAT IS YOUR POINT OF REFERENCE?

Matthew 14:25b-30

Jesus came to them, walking on the sea………..And Peter answered Him, Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water. He said, Come! So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, and he came toward Jesus. But when he perceived and felt the strong wind, he was frightened, and as he began to sink, he cried out, Lord, save me [from death]!

The Christian life, the Christian walk should be characterized by the virtues taught in the Word of God. Peter, in the above scripture did not just jump into the water to exercise his faith, He saw Jesus doing it and he had a reference point to know and believe that if the master bid me to walk as he’s walking, I will do so.
In our contemporary days, we have ignorantly and foolishly set our focus on human personality or so-called human achievements and accomplishments rather than JESUS Himself. We pay more attention to things and happenings around us than the message of the bible itself. It is just like the crowd following Jesus in His days observing miracles, seeking for how to be fed than the message he's preaching. We read more books written by man these days, but pay less attention to the ultimate book itself, the BIBLE.

Just think about this that nothing in life is worth fighting for. Your best clothes is someone's rag; Your account balance is someone's church offering; Your so much cherished and adorned fiancé/wife or vice versa was someone's Ex. Every single prostitute you see in a brothel or so called adult clubs or on the street at night was at some point in time a virgin. The record you are chasing to set would soon be broken by someone that seems a non-issue today. So what is the squabble all about and what is your point of reference? What is it that really matter to you in life?

Life is too small for anyone to feel big or better than anybody. We're all naked to death says Steve Jobs.  Nothing can save us from it. I hate to see people who brag about wealth, beauty, intelligence, level of education, fame and material possessions. It is even worth less in the church of God with all the titles that we create that inadvertently create barriers to our upliftings. Someone wants to be called a Bishop, Senior Pastor, Reverend Doctor etc, when in fact such individuals could not prove the level of anointing they purportedly carry. There's nothing you have achieved in life that no one else has never gotten. So, why the noise you are making, as if life would end with you or your
household?

As I ask the question again, What is your point of reference? Are you so caught up with life issues that you want to be like your so-called role model? In my short years of dwelling on this planet earth, I have discovered much as I have learned over and over again that there's only one thing that is worth bragging about, "LIFE IN GOD ALMIGHTY". So, why is it that you are in dilemma of who to worship and/or where to go? Why do you think that the instrument or the tool God is using to shape your life is worth all the recognition you accord to them?

So, be good to your fellow human being always and make friends out of them. We all need each other to get this assignment of “occupy till I come” done. Forget the title. Let your light be reflected in him that even those who do not yet know how to come to God can begin to seek Him. A Roman soldier named Cornelius was one such person (Acts 10). Because he was truly seeking God, his prayers were heard. God helped him. Through this help Cornelius became a follower and friend of God. Prayer is an important part of this friendship.

Always remember that the people you trample upon on your way up a ladder might be the same people you will pass on your way down, so cause no problem for others because if you do, they'll become your very problem one day. Someone trying to prove a point said “If one day you feel like crying, call me. I don't promise to make you laugh but I can cry with you. If one day you want to run away don't be afraid to call me. I promise to be there running beside you. But if one day you call me & there's no answer, come to me, perhaps I need you.

The Bible is about Jesus Christ, about the love of God demonstrated in His gift of Jesus Christ, for love comes from God and God is love. In this sense then, every page of the Bible reflects the character of God and the love of Christ, and we should try to retain this perspective as we study the scriptures. OUR focus should be on Jesus, because He's our Reference Point, not any man that is anointed or gifted.

"Jesus is my Point of Reference"
