I Timothy 6:12
Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to
which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many
witnesses.
The Bible says fight a good fight of faith according to the scripture above.
That means there are bad fights that we truly don't need to get involved in. And
again when you're fighting a fight that you think you can easily win, you still
have to be very careful. Joshua and his superior soldiers lost the fight
against the little Ai. The Bible says All things are lawful, but not all things
are expedient.
In order to live the life of victory in the journey of your faith on this earth, God
has promised that you have to be very selective about what you give your time
and attention to. You have to recognize which comments to ignore, which
thoughts to ignore, which activities and sometimes, which people to ignore.
Not every “battle” that comes across your path
in life is a battle that you’re supposed to fight. Many battles are simply
distractions that will try to lure you off course. If that battle is not
between you and your God-given destiny, it’s a battle you should ignore.
Today many people get thrown off course because
they are always trying to please everyone else or win their approval to gain
some kinds of acceptance. But if that’s your focus, you are wasting valuable
time and energy that you should be using to pursue your God-given destiny.
Today turn away from that distraction! You don’t need the approval of everyone around you; you only need God’s approval! Thus, you have to set a boundary for yourself, so that you don't get carried away by those who do not mean well for your future.
The Bible says by faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused
to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to be mistreated along
with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He
regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures,
Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. By faith he left Egypt, not
fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.
Hebrews 11:24-27
Thus, you will have peace when you realize you
don’t have to fight every battle. You don’t have to please people all the time,
but rather you should be concerned about pleasing God just like Moses did.
"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust dot
corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves
treasures in heaven.
